Anyone have any natural therapies or food suggestions that helps with Psoriasis on the elbows, knees and upper arms of my 19 yr old son. He has tried all standard creams and treatment but nothing seems to work at all. Just gets worse in fact. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

I’ve heard that light therapy (UV) helps with psoriasis. I also noticed that my psoriasis tends to get better in the summer and worse in the winter, so there may be something to the light therapy idea. I don’t know of food remedies. And Lidex ointment was prescribed for me and it really helps.

I don’t think there really is a diet to help you with psoriasis, but keeping a healthy and fit body is your best defense. There are many psoriasis treatment, depending on the degree. Light therapy is the most effective, and they also go with the regular topical creams that aid in the control of psoriasis. Avoiding irritants, eating the right food and keeping fit is the best way to control it.

I have a condition known as psoriatic arthritis, My doctors have given me everything to get rid of the psoriasis, even Methotrexate. Nothing worked. Until I got in the shower one day and had to use some lavender body wash (we ran out of soap) after a few days my psoriasis drastically reduced. I still use it and it did not cure it but it has controlled it..
